A Contadora Oculta is a European Portuguese podcast for learners at every level — from A1 to C2. Each episode features an original story or a text from the Portuguese literary public domain, narrated and followed by graded commentary on vocabulary, grammar, and semantics. You will never see my face. But you will hear the language as it truly exists, one story at a time. This is not a classroom. This is not literary analysis. This is European Portuguese, told by a hidden voice, one story at a time.

📚 In a small village lost among green mountains, a boy who never lifts a finger is about to meet the one thing that finally makes him move. In this episode of A Contadora Oculta, I narrate an original short story in European Portuguese — A Transformação do Pedro — set in the fictional Vila Clara, where Pedro, the village's laziest inhabitant, meets Mestre Ivo, a wandering sage with tales of a hidden treasure deep in the Floresta da Meia Lua.

This story is rated B2 . After the narration, I guide you through the key vocabulary, grammar, and/or semantics of the text with clear, graded explanations designed to help you understand and internalise European Portuguese as it is truly written and spoken.
