In today’s episode of Brazilian Break, we talk about the urna eletrônica, the electronic voting machine Brazilians use to vote.

We explain what an urna is, how voting worked before, and why the Brazilian voting process is such an important part of the country’s democracy.

We also talk about some very strange old election fraud names, like urna grávida, eleitor fósforo and voto formiguinha.

A simple episode about elections, vocabulary and a very Brazilian piece of technology.

Viva a democracia. And bora entender how Brazil votes.
