Mastering this recipe is incredibly easy. With just a handful of ingredients, you can create a golden, crispy pastry layered with thin apple slices, warm cinnamon, and a glossy apricot glaze that looks straight out of a professional bakery.
Required Ingredients- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 4 Golden apples, thinly sliced
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 3 tablespoons apricot or apple jam
- 1 tablespoon hot water
- Preheat your oven to 200°C.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the puff pastry on top.
- Using a knife, lightly score a border about 2 cm from the edge. Place the border gently over itself to create a raised crust.
- Prick the center of the pastry all over with a fork.
- Toss the sliced apples with the lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon until evenly coated.
- Arrange the apple slices neatly over the pastry, staying inside the border.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and beautifully golden.
- While the tart is still hot, combine the jam with the hot water and stir until smooth.
- Brush the glaze generously over the entire surface of the tart for a bakery-style shine.
- Serve warm on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
