Explore how lean thinking can support the resilient performance of interdependent critical infrastructures during extreme weather events, examining how the Functional Resonance Analysis Method was used to model interdependences among 20 critical infrastructures affected by the 2024 floods in Southern Brazil, and what this systemic perspective offers to construction and infrastructure management more broadly. The conversation also looks beyond this single paper to how the design of critical infrastructures themselves can contribute to societal resilience to extreme weather events, and to the wider portfolio of built-environment research carried out by the guest's research group at UFRGS.
